mmm, everyone thought that Vista was going to be bad! I stuck with that myth for sometime as well, but finally when I got a new computer I realised how different Vista was from how people had said it to be. Although it is alot slower than XP. It is a whole lot more detailed and nicer looking! As for the older Windows OS they were just basic systems that I never had a chance to have a look at! And with Mac I haven't really had any experience with. But! In four days I will experience this! For in four days I am purchasing a 24" iMac! Yay! Very Happy

Interesting, i see, well i believe that Vistas new "security" features obtrusive, annoying and plain repetitive, if you plug in a usb it asks for confirmation, obviously we did plug it in for a reason, i can understand for unwanted downloaded software, but maybe they should of limited it to it, good luck with the mac hopefully you wont have to ask too many questions here asking how to use it. lol!

True my friend, very true. Security on Vista has been taken to the moon and back. Meaning that if in fact as Sam said put a USB in it will ask you if your sure you want to put it in! Another bugger would have to be compatibility issues. That is the biggest annoyance with Vista. But hopefully a mass update will be in order to fix this. Adding to that if your upgrading to Vista the prices are through the roof! For Windows Vista Ultimate, its a whopping $400.00! Talk about a rip off!

Yes, it is a lot of money, i also dont like how you cannot purchase any of the previous OS's anymore, i would like to, even if it was sold online, i do not think i will be purchasing Vista until the patches have been released which change some of the compatibility features. That also is a problem with Mac's however you can purchase that software... Why is it that Vista didnt implement it in the first place??

lol!

even though it has many more features your having to use twice as much ram for all games programs etc and i dont believe these features are worth it and i have found i get so many more error messages on vista than xp lets just hope windows 7 has the features without the slowness of vista

The only reason for it being non-popular is due to it being difficult to use, as you mentioned.

lol!

Well, regarding the Mac... its stable. I had a Mac once upon a time - doesnt remember which OS.
But there is this thing, I opened about a 15 various "windowses" containing a lot of media data, meanwhile playing a movie and at the other window I had the Adobe Illustrator opened.
It didnt stack. It didnt freez. It just went and went and went.

Just try to do that at Windows OS. It will stack, it will freeze and do all the other things you dont want it to do.

Linux is good to. But not at his "media" theme. Its the best OS for administrations. i.e. servers, and so...

But there is this compatibility thing that too little amount of software is developed for linux.. cause Mstr Gates is good at sales, he managed that most of softwares (good softwares) are being developed for windows os.
The only OS that can do and is doing something about that is Mac.

It does the same development and medially it much stable.

Just to let you know...
